Cards from Grandma

My grandmother was a wonderful woman. She was known for having a card for everything, and she always filled those cards with confetti. Somehow, after she died, I ended up with her card stash. I finally got around to going through it recently, and found several cards I knew to pass on -- one for a cousin, one for each of my parents, and one for me. She hadn't written anything in them yet, or deposited her signature confetti, but it still felt like a message of encouragement from her.

As I went through her stationary, I found a lot more than birthday cards -- pictures cut out of a magazine, quotes she had written down for future use, even a sketch she'd drawn of an iris. I didn't keep everything, but what I did keep will always remind me of her.
